What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I came to Sioux Falls because of my job having a location in Sioux Falls. I’ve always wanted to move but loved the company I work for: American State Bank. When they were adding a second location in Sioux Falls, I immediately knew that it was a perfect opportunity to take. I also loved that Sioux Falls was close enough to home but still feels far away. I grew up coming here quite often and had always loved it.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

The fact that it’s just going to keep growing and is like the No. 1 city for young professionals to live. I love our downtown as well as the people who live here.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

One of the highest interest rates on a checking account in town! 😉 But really, my favorite thing about my job is being able to meet and talk to new people who walk in the door and further develop a relationship with them. I am very passionate about what American State Bank stands for, especially community. We take community and relationships very seriously and want to grow with our customers personally and professionally. That’s what it’s all about to me.

How did you get connected to your industry?

I interned in the marketing department at American State Bank in the summer of 2019 and have been with them ever since. There are many parts of making a bank function, and I have now been a part of marketing, online banking, customer service and new accounts. It’s been fun to be a part of all these different areas!

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I play the violin and have been playing since second grade!

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

Supporting small businesses for sure!

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Trader Joe’s.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Twenty-eight seems so old!! 😉 I see myself with more connections and relationships in the community. I see Sioux Falls ASB growing and me being a part of getting our name out there in this specific market. I see myself growing personally and professionally.
