GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness is turning a former warehouse into a new fitness center unlike any members have experienced.
“We’re excited to see this start coming together,” GreatLIFE president Nick Ovenden said. “We’ve really enjoyed the positive reaction from the community of Harrisburg and can’t wait to start serving our members there and beyond.”
Construction crews are working on the former Carolan Rental building on North Cliff Avenue in Harrisburg to turn it into a 16,000-square-foot fitness center. It will be among the largest locations GreatLIFE offers.
“We liked what a big, open space it was,” Ovenden said. “Now, it’s about turning it into a place where we can offer some attractions you won’t find at most or even any GreatLIFE locations.”
The Harrisburg location will have a large turf presence, saunas, a large area for free weights and six built-in garage doors that will give it an indoor/outdoor feel.
And because it sits on 6 acres, there’s a lot of room for outdoor fitness.
“We’ve got some surprises to share as the opening gets closer too,” Ovenden said. “This is going to offer an experience different from anything our members currently enjoy.”
The plan is to open this fall.
