First International Bank & Trust is taking applications April 3-17 for its ninth annual Live First Community Giving Campaign. Charitable and community organizations are encouraged to apply for awards totaling up to $43,000. Find details at FIBT.com.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee will provide 1,500 free A1C screenings in April at select Hy-Vee stores, including the one on Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls. This simple blood test measures average blood sugar levels over the past three months. This is a common test used to identify prediabetes or diabetes. Registration is required for the free A1C screening and can be made online.

Hy-Vee has kicked off its 100 Million Meals Challenge, an effort through the end of the year to help fight hunger across its eight-state region. Donations will go to the Feeding America network of partner food banks across the Midwest. Customers can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar during checkout to donate to the campaign. All funds collected at stores will go directly to partner food banks serving their local community. Customers can donate online by going to feedingamerica.org/hy-vee. Hy-Vee also is working with national food manufacturers and suppliers to provide food and funds to benefit the 18 Feeding America partner food banks that operate in its eight-state region.
