Register now, and get ready for a weekend of fun July 15-17 as J&L Harley-Davidson debuts the Soo Foo Moto Fest.

Featuring a weekend-long poker run, concerts and the region’s largest ride-in bike show, the Soo Foo Moto Fest will take place at J&L Harley-Davidson’s newly renovated headquarters, 2601 W. 60th St. N.

“If you’re a lifestyle enthusiast of gas, oil and grease, this is for you,” co-owner Joe Entenman said. “We’re excited to be creating a new event that appeals to everyone who likes to have fun.”

And, it’s all for a great cause.

In the tradition of Hot Harley Nights, all money contributed at the Moto Fest will be given to Make-A-Wish of South Dakota & Montana.

“Our target is to raise $20,000, and we’re coming along well,” Joe said. “We’re really excited.”

The poker run will go all weekend and include about 10 stops, co-owner Jimmy Entenman added.

“You do it at your own pace, Friday through Sunday, and you just need to be back by Sunday at 3 p.m.,” he said. “Throughout the weekend, we’re expecting huge attendance, plus we’re making it as accessible as we can with free concerts and a lot to see and do all in one convenient place.”

Opening day will kick off with the start of the poker run, plus the region’s largest ride-in bike show – judging begins at 6 p.m., and winners will be announced just before 8 p.m. on stage.

“The bike show is judged by industry veterans, but for the first time, we’ve added a people’s choice component, so you can buy a ballot for a $1 donation and vote for your favorite,” Joe said.

“We usually have 60 to 70 bikes attend and are expecting some awesome hot rods.”

Free concerts will begin at 6 and 8 p.m., opening with local artist Good Road Band and featuring national country star Trey Lewis from Nashville. And Sik Pik Cycles Motorcycle Stunt Show will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, take in the car and UTV/ATV show, the sounds of Minority Falls and an after-party and concert at Blue Rock Bar & Grill starting at 6 p.m.

“It’s free to register for the car, bike and ATV shows, but donations are encouraged and go directly to Make-A-Wish to support families and children battling life-threatening illness,” Jimmy said.

Sunday will be brought to you by California-based custom bike builder Speed Kings and include the conclusion of the weekend-long poker run and loud bike contest featuring exhaust and stereo systems, plus the Speed Kings Bike Show. A motorcycle stunt show will perform at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Early registration for the Moto Fest is encouraged. It’s $25 through Thursday and includes a Soo Foo Moto Fest T-shirt, coozie, sticker and beverage coupon. After Thursday, it’s $35.
