First Sioux Falls Caribou Cabin to open this week

April 26, 2022

Caribou Coffee’s drive-thru model Caribou Cabin opens its first Sioux Falls site this week.

The roughly 600-square-foot location will open Wednesday on 10th Street just east of Mable Avenue.

Caribou launched the drive-thru and walk-up concept in 2019 and has grown it to more than two dozen locations.

“All the guests have one thing in mind: get their beverage, and get on their way,” director of operations Adam Krook said.

“This is massive growth happening for Caribou, and it helps us get into areas that are growing. Sioux Falls is growing, the communities around it are growing, and Caribous being a Minnesota, Upper Midwest company, we love to be able to get into areas we’ve not been able to get into, so this is really a growth avenue for Caribou.”

The cabins carry the full line of Caribou beverages and a slightly smaller selection of hot breakfast sandwiches and bakery items.

The site features outdoor seating on a patio in front of the building.

Caribou has another cabin coming along 26th Street near Veterans Parkway this fall, plus a full-service location on West 12th Street later this summer.

Hours at the new Caribou Cabin are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

“We are currently staffed at this location opening up,” Krook added. “But we are always hiring … and we’ve already begun the hiring process for the next location as far as assistant manager and leadership, and that will continue as we ramp up for the third location opening.”
