Fit My Feet owner builds store portfolio with Runner’s Block

May 25, 2022

Fit My Feet founder Nick Kolterman is the new owner of Runner’s Block.

Kolterman bought the 13-year-old business recently from Rob Huber, who originally opened it at 57th Street and Louise Avenue before moving it to The Empire Mall in 2018.

“It’s going to stay Runner’s Block,” Kolterman said. “It’s run speciality, which is why I’m targeting that niche market.”

The deal also allows him to represent more brands, including Asics and Nike. Previously, because of limitations within the industry, Fit My Feet carried some brands and Runner’s Block had others.

“So strategically, that’s why I did it but also to get into the run speciality community,” Kolterman said. “There are a lot of runners who associate Fit My Feet with orthopedics and medical.”

Runner’s Block will be Kolterman’s eighth store. He has Fit My Feet locations in Sioux Falls, Brookings, Dakota Dunes, Mitchell, Rapid City, Fargo and Rochester, Minnesota.
