Everhome Suites, a 114-room extended stay hotel, will begin construction soon adjacent to the Sanford Sports Complex.

Developed by MSF Hotels, LLC, the four-story building will be located south of the Sports Complex on the west side of North Westport Avenue. The property previously was owned by Sencore Corp.

“We see tremendous opportunity to bring an additional hotel to this fast-growing area,” said Craig Markhardt, president of CAM Companies, the general partner in MSF Hotels, LLC., in a statement.

“We believe this builds on the momentum of the area following development of the Sanford Health Virtual Care Center and the Dakota State University Applied Research Lab. Both of these facilities along with the Sports Complex are going to drive significant demand for lodging and we’re excited to provide that, including for guests who find themselves staying in the area a week or longer.”

Everhome Suites is Choice International’s newest extended stay brand, launched in 2020. The company promotes “spacious studio and one-bedroom apartment-style layouts” and suites that separate work space from play and allow for guests’ customization.

Suites include full-size closets, various storage and pet-friendly options.

“We think guests will love the fully equipped kitchens,” Markhardt added. “There are full-size refrigerators, dishwashers, stovetops, microwaves, flatware, cookware and plenty of counter space. Especially for athletes traveling over multiple days, it’s a great option and also supports a healthy lifestyle on the road.”

Everhome Suites also will offer a multipurpose lobby area, fully outfitted fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment and guest laundry facilities.

Guests can shop a 24-7 self-service marketplace to purchase a variety of fresh and frozen meals, with hot and cold breakfast options that can be prepared in the rooms.

“This hotel has been specifically designed to fit the needs of guests that frequent this area for sports, entertainment, food and the professional travelers that will be coming to the new facilities nearby,” Markhardt said.

The hotel will be managed by South Dakota-based Venerts Hotel Management Company, which manages a number of extended and midscale hotels across the U.S., including other Choice Hotels brands, such as ASCEND, Quality Inns & Suites and Country Inn and Suites.

CAM Companies plans to break ground this spring and anticipates Everhome Suites opening about a year from now.

“We’re anticipate additional announcements in this area as well,” Markhardt said.

Sanford Sports Complex looks to future with potential for major developments
