State-of-the-art red light therapy treatment leads to big benefits

In just 10 minutes, your cells can get a workout with multiple benefits.

It’s call Red Light Therapy – a service popular elsewhere that’s now come to Sioux Falls, where The Sauna Haus is offering a state-of-the-art approach.

It’s made a believer out of Laura Patzlaff, who had been coming to The Sauna Haus for years for facial services, salt room and sauna sessions.

“I noticed that it just drastically improved my self-care,” she said. “So when I heard about red light therapy, I was a careful observer for about a month and heard about other people having different results and then decided to try it out.”

She started it for her immune system, after being “chronically ill for two months and desperate for some relief,” she said.

What she didn’t expect was the weight loss that occurred.

“I was really surprised my clothes started fitting differently after about a month,” she said. “I’ve gone down four notches on my belt and that was totally unexpected.”

The unexpected positive side effects of red light therapy are common, said Lori Meyer, owner of The Sauna Haus.

“A lot of times clients will come in for pain relief or inflammation and they will see those benefits, but they in addition they’re talking about how much better they’re sleeping or how they have more energy,” Meyer said.

She added OvationULT to her services last year. The Sauna Haus is located at 1511 E. 69th St.

“This treatment reaches you at a cellular level,” Meyer said. “It’s really popular on the coasts and not as much in the Midwest yet, so as people are starting to learn more about it they’re telling others and we’re beginning to see repeat guests and referrals.”

OvationULT offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Increased oxygen intake
  • Decreased pain and lower inflammation and stress
  • Increased endurance, strength, energy and recovery
  • Improved wound healing and scarring
  • Improved joint health and arthritis symptoms
  • Slowed hair loss
  • Improved sleep patterns
  • Improved brain health and cognitive performance
  • Anti-aging with facial blue lights that control bacteria that cause acne
  • Fat loss when following a healthy routine
  • Improved oral health

“There are amazing benefits,” Meyer said. “It offers so much and my decision to add it here has been confirmed as I’ve been blown away by the feedback from clients on how it helps them.”

At Sauna Haus, the OvationULT bed offers the ultimate red light therapy experience, with the closest range of LED lights in the industry for maximum benefits. A built-in vibrational massage helps stimulate lymphatic drainage.

“We use zero-gravity positioning, because a lot of people have back pain and that’s so much more comfortable,” Meyer said. “It’s a nice, gentle vibration to help with lymphatic drainage, and the blue light can be beneficial for any acne-causing bacteria.”

New clients will have a consultation first to learn more about the therapy and have an opportunity to discuss their goals to customize a treatment plan.

Sessions often are 10 to 15 minutes two or three times per week, but that can add up to big results.

“I have a client who was able to reduce her thyroid medication because of it, so that’s been incredible,” Meyer said. “I love helping people live a better quality of life and this just really brought it to the next level.”

For Patzlaff – who is now down 50 pounds – the benefits have been multifold.

“I’ve noticed that I have faster recovery from my workouts. I’m less tired, my sleep is improved. I wake up in the morning interested in what the day holds,” she said “My overall health has just kind of improved. I’ve noticed an improvement in my stomach issues, my mood and my outlook.”

Now, when she does come down with a minor illness, “it no longer takes seven to 10 days to get over,” she continued. “I have a more rapid rebound into health.”

To ensure new clients are comfortable, Meyer offers a $50 session that clients can choose prior to committing to a package.

“Some people see results after just one treatment, but the real benefit happens over time,” Meyer said. “It’s just like a workout; you see results after multiple treatments.”
