Downtown Sioux Falls opens grant for winter event

Aug. 16, 2019

Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. is once again looking for a winter event to support next year.

With the help of the Main Street Business Improvement District, the organization is offering up to $5,000 to support a downtown winter event.

“As downtown Sioux Falls continues to thrive and grow, this grant will help promote activities and collaboration during the winter months,” said DTSF program director Steven Dahlmeier.

Last year’s recipient, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire, used the funds to launch the Sioux Falls Winter Carnival. The organization is applying again, but the grant is open to all applicants.

Next year’s Winter Carnival is scheduled for Feb. 1-9 and will have returning events plus new additions, according to the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Applications will be accepted until Aug. 30. Only one grant will be awarded for 2020.  Click here to review the criteria for sponsorship and application.
