A create-your-own pizza shop has returned to the former PizzaRev space.

Invictus Pizza opened today at 3901 W. 49th St., south of The Empire Mall.

“I think everything is going very well right now,” manager Tiffany Ralls said. “We definitely got a good crew, and we had just a beautiful shell of a restaurant when we got here, so we got to make it however we wanted it and did a bunch of updates to everything.”

Invictus Pizza puts a local twist on the concept popularized by PizzaRev at the location, which drew a loyal following that encouraged the new restaurant to take over the space. It had been vacant since PizzaRev closed in 2021, citing lack of staff.

The menu includes create-your-own options with four crusts, including gluten-free and cauliflower, seven sauces, nine cheeses, including vegan, and an array of meat and vegetable toppings.

“We added quite a few new signature sauces that are all homemade by us,” Ralls said. “Since we’re a mom-and-pop shop, we got to come up with all our own stuff, so that’s very exciting.”

There also are signature pizzas — she recommends The Duchess, which is a traditional crust with a fresh rosemary and green onion cream cheese spread, mozzarella cheese blend, pork belly, red onions and hot honey glaze.

“It’s phenomenal, something you’re not going to find anywhere else in Sioux Falls.”

There also are create-your-own calzone and salad options along with homemade desserts such as cinnamon roll bites and a deep-dish cookie and brownie.

So far, staffing is not an issue for Invictus, which has a full team and isn’t actively hiring.

“As of right now, we’re not. We have a good little family going, and I think it’s going to go really well,” Ralls said. “We’re just trying to keep the ‘at home’ vibe so everyone is real comfortable, and we have wonderful staff. We’re here, and we’re ready to take care of everybody.”

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
