Sioux Falls-based A&B Business Solutions has acquired an ownership stake in an Oklahoma-based provider of office technology and workplace services.
A&B now owns 50 percent of multigenerational family business JD Young Technologies, which was founded in 1949 and serves markets such as Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
“This partnership is the result of more than two years of thoughtful planning and conversation,” Dennis Aanenson, president of A&B Business Solutions, said in a statement.
“As A&B looked to expand its territory across the Midwest, it was critical to align with a company that shared our values, culture and commitment to customers. JD Young is a perfect fit, and this partnership strengthens both organizations.”
There will be no changes for customers of either company, the businesses said. Existing relationships, contracts and service teams will remain the same and now will be backed by expanded support, shared expertise and enhanced resources.
“Our companies have remarkably similar cultures and long-term outlooks,” said Robert Stuart, CEO of JD Young Technologies. “Our ownership teams have been friends for more than 25 years, and this partnership allows us to expand resources and capabilities while remaining local, family-owned and customer-focused.”
The businesses said they plan to align their brands and best practices while leveraging combined resources.
“This is about building for the future while honoring our past,” they said. “Together, we’re creating more opportunity for our customers, our employees and the communities we serve.”
A&B Business Solutions is a family-owned technology and solutions provider founded in 1981 and acquired by the Aanenson family in 1993. Since then, the company has grown to 14 locations across six states.
