Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

BlackFork Farms has opened its retail space and distillery tasting room at Cherapa Place. It’s in The Dakota Flats building at 318 N. Reid Place. Bryan Moscatello, owner of HK and Nunzios, is managing the location in partnership with BlackFork, which is near Brandt in eastern South Dakota. In addition to curated tastings of the distillery’s spirits, there are cocktails and appetizers. Hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen is working out of the kitchen at Signature Aviation, 3501 N. Aviation Ave., just north of the Sioux Falls Regional Airport terminal. For now, Swamp Daddy’s is offering catering and takeout only, and customers can order in-person, online or by phone. Delivery is available through DoorDash.

Growing manufacturer ZahnTech will be moving into 64,000 square feet of building space that’s under construction or being built out at the Canton Industrial Park. Founder Avery Zahn’s company makes a proprietary recycled material that has been used initially to make composite fence posts for the agriculture industry and has the potential for other uses. The current production site is near the Canton exit at Interstate 29, and Zahn’s office is at Sioux Falls Regional Livestock west of Worthing.

Caminando Juntos, a nonprofit that has served the Latino population in the Sioux Falls area for 24 years, will be discontinuing operations as of May 31. “The current philanthropic, economic and political environment poses unique challenges to small not-for-profit organizations,” Caminando Juntos said in a statement. “In this environment, it is difficult to offer quality services with limited income-generating programs.”

Allison Neukirchen has moved Pasque Medical Massage out of her home and into a storefront in Garretson. It’s at 637 N. Main Ave.

Also in Garretson, Samantha Westly has opened Day Salon in her home at 921 Elvira Drive. She offers haircuts, coloring, hair styling for special events and facial waxing.

Zabdi Augo Sales opened earlier this year in Garretson at 508 S. Depot Ave. It sells pre-owned vehicles and provides servicing.

New event center Scavigo is available to rent for wedding and baby showers, rehearsal dinners, graduation parties, corporate events or any small gathering and can accommodate up to 80 guests seated or 90 standing. The business at 4101 S. Southeastern Ave. is owned by Cayla and Brian Rush.

B&G Milkyway in Harrisburg will reopen for the season April 11 under new ownership. Ritch and Jennifer Noble will operate the seasonal ice cream shop that also serves food with the help of their adult children and son-in-law. The business at 201 Cliff Ave. will start serving customers earlier in the day than it did last year. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with a 10 p.m. closing time in summer.

The Sioux Council and Black Hills Area Council of Scouting America have merged. The name of the new council will be determined with the help of key stakeholders. “The result is one council with expanded capacity, unified governance and a broader geographic footprint – while preserving the local identity and traditions that make Scouting strong in both regions,” the organizations said in a news release.
