The official destination marketing organization for the city, Experience Sioux Falls, is tasked with marketing Sioux Falls as a destination for every type of traveler, including leisure, meetings, sports events, group tours and more.
ESF’s website, ExperienceSiouxFalls.com, always has been a primary tool for inspiring travel, and that tool is now better than ever with the launch of a website that puts user experience front and center.
“Our research has shown that some of the top things visitors to our website are looking for are events and quick-hitting content, so we put a primary focus on those items, particularly on the homepage,” said Krista Orsack, director of marketing.
If you have looked through the 2026 Official Sioux Falls Visitor Guide, which is another key tool in ESF’s tool box for inspiring travel to Sioux Falls, you will notice the new website closely resembles the color palette found throughout the 2026 Visitor Guide.
“People don’t plan their travel in just one place, so as they interact with multiple channels like web, social media, email and print, we’re making sure our brand delivers a cohesive look at every touchpoint to stand out along the way,” Orsack said.
The new website, which was built by Click Rain, features a new AI Trip Planner that was created by the team at the local digital marketing agency. This AI Trip Planner is designed to function as an AI chat assistant and helps users plan their trip by answering questions and providing activity ideas based on each user’s unique situation.
“Our goal was to capture what makes Sioux Falls fun and approachable, while making it easier for people to plan their visit. The design invites you in, and the AI Trip Planner helps guide you based on what you’re looking for,” said Bailey Wood, Click Rain director of marketing.
“Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been here before, the experience adapts to you.”
Coming off the previous website that used darker tones throughout, the new website design is light and airy with pops of bright and vibrant colors that play well with the imagery. You also will find script fonts used in many places, as well as hand-drawn illustrations that give an organic and approachable vibe.
“With a wide range of custom, stylized blocks to choose from on the back end, we have the flexibility to showcase content in unique ways by drawing attention to certain areas or letting the photos and videos speak for themselves,” said Matt Barthel, ESF communications manager.
The website also includes various placement options for sponsored content for businesses and organizations who are interested in spotlighting themselves to thousands of potential travelers.
After many months of planning and execution, ESF is excited to have launched its website officially and looks forward to seeing what visitors to the site are engaging with the most.
