Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Five Star Call Centers has new owners and a new location. The leadership team of Troy Holt, Ray Peterson and Joel Sylvester bought the business from founders Craig Lawrence and Paul Schiller. It has moved from 4901 E. 26th St. to 6009 S. Sharon Ave.

First Premier Bank is moving backroom operations from a site in northeast Sioux Falls to the former Esurance building at 3509 N. Louise Ave.

Credo’s Pub has opened at 5520 W. Success St. at University Hills Village in northwest Sioux Falls. It’s open daily and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pub from the owners of the former BBs Pub N Grill has a full liquor license and features 32 beers on tap.

North Dakota-based First International Bank & Trust has moved into its new downtown officeon the southwest corner of 14th Street and Minnesota Avenue. The family-owned bank entered the market in late 2020 and later acquired the former First Premier Bank headquarters, which it has been renovating for the past year. It’s a full-service location.

BrandyAnn Fiala has purchased the nearly century-old Eilers Furs from Leonard and Gail Iwinski. It has been located at The Bridges on 57th since 1999. Fiala worked with the Iwinskis for almost a year before the couple’s retirement in early January.

Starbucks and Anytime Fitness will be part of a new retail center on Marion Road south of Jefferson High School. Starbucks will include a drive-thru and is expected to open in mid-March. At 7,500 square feet, the fitness center will be the largest Anytime Fitness in Sioux Falls. The hope is to open Aug. 1. The retail center has about 2,700 square feet left to lease.

Augustana University will launch its newest academic program, Augustana University Fintech Program by Pathward, in the fall of 2023. Assistant professor Raymond Leach has developed three courses specific to the program, and students also will complete an internship arranged by Augustana with local companies.

Huether Family Match Pointe will break ground on a four-court expansion that will be used for pickleball and tennis. Construction is expected to start in April and will bring the center at the Sanford Sports Complex to 10 courts. The $3.6 million project is projected to be completed in October.

Startup Sioux Falls, which provides services to entrepreneurs, has opened its new downtown headquarters. It’s in a historic railroad freight depot at 100 E. Sixth St. that has been extensively renovated.

The three Pita Pit restaurants in Sioux Falls have a new franchise owner. Paul Duerre took over the locations from Tom Cruse, who brought the concept to town in 2011.

The Sioux Falls Development Foundation has two parcels of land at 10th Street and Franklin Avenue under contract and has created a community group to begin guiding redevelopment efforts. The site, which is being called the Riverline District, includes office for the state of South Dakota and the former Stadium Court mobile home park.

Washed Clean Addiction & Recovery Ministries has opened a center at 322 E. 14th St. Founder Craig Nichols said he hopes the new space offers an opportunity to connect with more people, including through recovery meetings, Bible studies, small groups and events. Washed Clean is a 12-step recovery program with a Christian focus. It offers residential, faith-based recovery programs for men and women in Sioux Falls and, until recently, operated a thrift store.

Crumbl Cookies will open its second bakery in Sioux Falls on Friday. It’s part of a new retail center at 5809 E. 18th St. at Dawley Farm Village and is open Monday through Saturday.

Tom and Karly Rychlik moved to Sioux Falls from Colorado last year and have opened CrossFit 605 at 27065 Katie Road in Tea. Fitness classes, which are open to members, are offered Monday through Saturday.

Dillard’s has delayed its opening at The Empire Mall from the fall of 2023 to the spring of 2024. The national department store retailer is renovating the former Younkers space and building an addition.

The Bancorp Bank NA, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bancorp Inc., has moved its headquarters to Sioux Falls. The move became effective Feb. 1 and makes The Bancorp Bank the third-largest bank by asset size with headquarters in South Dakota..

Four friends – Seth North, Spencer Mannes, Kevin Marlow and Nate Russell — are the new owners of The Bunker Bar in Harrisburg. They took over the former On the Rocks at 108 E. Willow St. The bar, which has a full liquor license and serves pizza, is open daily.

Bella Spa, which offers services such as eyebrow threading and eyelash extensions, has expanded and moved from its space in the Macy’s wing at The Empire Mall to a former hair salon space nearby. Nails Plus also is coming back to the mall, with a salon that will be next to Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Jimmy John’s has opened at 5005 N. Annika Ave., near the Walmart in northwest Sioux Falls. It’s the sixth location for the national sandwich shop in the city.

St. Paul-based Lite Run, which is led by Mike Bankowski of Sioux Falls, has entered into a partnership with Concordance Healthcare Solutions. The Ohio-based company, which is licensed in 48 states, will serve as the exclusive distributor of the Lite Run Gait Trainer, an assistive and rehabilitation device for the treatment of patients with gait and balance difficulties from injuries such as spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and stroke.
