Josephine’s Floral Designery has opened in its new retail space at The Wedge on Western. The flower shop at 6221 S. Western Ave. is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

The owners of R Wine Bar & Kitchen are planning another downtown restaurant. Riccardo and Marybeth Tarabelsi will be opening the new concept inside Washington Square at 12th and Main sometime next year.

Hy-Vee is closing its grocery store at 10th and Kiwanis and turning the building into a nonretail site for preparing bakery items and filling pharmacy orders. The store will close at 6 p.m. Jan. 1.

Windsor, a women’s apparel chain, has opened at The Empire Mall. The store is known for its special occasion apparel, but there’s also casual wear. It’s located next to American Eagle and Tilly’s.

Starbucks plans to build a stand-alone location at 5101 N. Annika Ave., which is in front of the Walmart along 60th Street North. The new Starbucks will be a full-service location at 2,600 square feet plus a drive-thru. It’s being developed by Cresten Capital Holdings. The plan is to be open in late summer or early fall.

With limited outings in winter, the food truck Old Skool Jersey Rippers & Balls has created Old Skool Jersey Eats with take-and-reheat meals. Customers can order them online by Monday mornings for delivery on Thursdays.

One year after opening its first Sioux Falls location, Chipotle Mexican Grill is planning a second one. The build-your-own Mexican food restaurant has submitted a building plan for a store at the northeast corner of Arrowhead Parkway and Foss Avenue.

In a move that’s expected to accelerate growth for Silverstar Car Wash, the Sioux Falls-based company has joined with Atlanta-based Mammoth Holdings, which “seeks to be the partner-of-choice for car wash operators who desire liquidity, growth capital and a tax-deferred equity investment opportunity.” Silverstar, which made an equity investment in Mammoth, will continue to own and operate its 14 locations in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.

Giliberto’s Mexican Taco Shop has moved from its original location at 712 S. Minnesota Ave. to the building next door. The former Wendy’s location adds a drive-thru for the restaurant, which is open 24/7. Owner Ana Coconi plans to open a Mexican ice cream shop, La Michoakanita, in the old site.

Two sisters are opening a small-scale event space in downtown Sioux Falls. Amy Boes and Angela Merritt are turning part of the historic Stockman’s Exchange Bank building at Eighth and Weber into Convolo. The space can hold 95 people and seat 60. Bookings are available for events after Dec. 18.

Luxury Salon Suites owner Angi Britton has started a second business, D’Lux Suites. In addition to beauty service providers, the 23 suites at 4610 S. Technopolis Drive can be leased by professionals such as chiropractors and therapists.

Fat Kid Filly’s has expanded to Valley Springs. The business, which started last year as a food truck, operates out of the kitchen at On the Rocks. Owners Cody and Amber Sauers plan to start with dinner service five or six nights a week and expand into breakfast and lunch next year.

Nyberg’s Ace is expanding to Watertown with a store in the former Shopko building. It will be the sixth location for the retailer and the first outside of Sioux Falls. The retailer expects to open in the spring.

Mary’s Mountain Cookies has opened along the boardwalk of The Cascade at Second and Phillips. It features 5-ounce cookies that are mixed and baked on-site. There are eight standard flavors and up to 10 seasonal offerings, along with ice cream mixers and other treats. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday.

A Sioux Falls cosmetic and clothing business that started with an online store and expanded to a vending machine in The Empire Mall now has a storefront in the Western Mall. Vanity Closet’s all-natural makeup and skin care products are made by owner Andrianna Mitchell. The store offers an expanded line of skin products, along with clothing, accessories, hats and shoes.

Beauty Lounge Glamour Studio has expanded to include BLG Specialty Lingerie. In addition to lingerie in extra small to 5X sizes, the shop sells pajamas, robes and bridal-themed T-shirts. Group shopping parties are available. The business is at 1010 W. 41st St.
