Chain restaurant closes temporarily because of staffing issues

April 30, 2024

Chick N Max has been closed since Sunday because of staffing issues but is scheduled to reopen Thursday.

The franchised location, which is owned by father and son Brad and Max “Bubba” Reinke of Pierre, opened six months ago at Lake Lorraine.

The quick-serve restaurant will be under new management when it reopens, a spokesman for the Kansas-based chain said.

The Reinkes have an agreement with Chick N Max to open two more restaurants in the area. They have been looking at locations but have not identified spots yet, the spokesman said.

The priority will be ensuring the Lake Lorraine site is operating “the way it should,” he said.

“Chick N Max is constantly on the look out for more general managers and store managers who have a proven track record for exceeding guest expectations, growing sales and developing their teams,” the spokesman said. “Interested candidates need to have a longevity in the restaurant field and a desire to perform at an elite level.”
