Biotech networking event planned next week

Catch up on all the latest biotech developments at a networking event Monday, June 11.
The free event will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the University Center, 4801 N. Career Ave.
“There’s been so much positive activity in our industry recently that it’s important to keep our momentum going,” said Joni Johnson, executive director of South Dakota Biotech.
Johnson recently returned from the international BIO convention, where Gov. Dennis Daugaard was honored with a lifetime achievement award.
“South Dakota is part of the national, even international, biotech conversation in ways it’s never been before,” Johnson said. “We’re proving that we have what it takes to grow and support this industry.”
The June 11 event will include researchers from The BioSystems Networks/Translational Research, or BioSNTR, a statewide collaborative research endeavor.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about their work, which is helping further develop biosciences across our state,” Johnson said.
