Atomic Wings opens first Sioux Falls location
July 24, 2024
The fast-casual chain Atomic Wings has opened its first restaurant in Sioux Falls.
It’s franchised locally by Eric and Stefanie Engelstad, who also are the franchisees for Firehouse Subs.
The restaurant is in a retail center on the northeast corner of 69th Street and Cliff Avenue. It seats about 30 diners and does not have a drive-thru.

“This area is growing quickly and offers a great option to the area and will be easily accessible from Highway 100 when it’s completed,” Stefanie Engelstad said.

Atomic Wings’ approach is that “our chicken is fresh, never frozen, anti-hormone and antibiotic-free,” she added. “We have a menu that everyone in the family can enjoy.”

The specialty menu item is available in buffalo, grilled and boneless varieties, with more than 20 sauces and rubs. The menu also includes chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, flatbreads, salads and sides, including a variety of fries, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers and coleslaw.

“Our chicken sandwiches and flatbreads are a great addition to our traditional and boneless wings, which offer a variety of sauces from heat to sweet,” Engelstad said. “Personally, a flatbread and sweet potato fries are my go-tos.”

The current limited-time feature is loaded waffle fries, and the dessert offering is deep-fried Oreos.
Atomic Wings serves Pepsi products and has six self-serve beer taps. The current lineup includes Coors Light, Modelo, Angry Orchard apple cider, Bell’s Oberon and local brews Fernson Ears Up and Remedy Queen Bee.

Hours for the restaurant at 1502 E. 69th St. are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
