Arctic Cat dealer to double in size

By Rosemary McCoy

Building on its success, Track 2 Trail Arctic Cat is doubling in size.

Owner Travis DeJong bought the lot next to the location he is leasing on West Russell Street and began construction on a 12,000-square-foot building in the summer.

“We ran out of room a couple of years ago,” he said.

DeJong hopes to be moved in by Nov. 1.

In addition to being a dealer for Arctic Cat snowmobiles, ATVs and utility vehicles and selling used machines, Track 2 Trail sells parts and does repair work. DeJong recently started carrying E-Z-Go golf carts.

He started the business in 2005 in Sisseton and relocated to Harrisburg in 2008 and Dell Rapids in 2009. Track 2 Trail opened at its current location at 2905 W. Russell St. in June 2012.

DeJong’s wife helps him part time, and he has a part-time employee in the winter.

The showroom will expand from 700 square feet to almost 4,000. DeJong said he’ll use the additional space to display different models.

The warehouse will take 3,500 to 3,800 square feet, DeJong will have some office space, and the remainder will be the shop area.

The business is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
