Allegiant to add flights to California, Florida
Aug. 10, 2021
Allegiant Air is adding two more nonstop destinations from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.
This winter, travelers will gain access to Orange County in California and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Flights to the John Wayne Airport in Anaheim will begin Nov. 19. Travel days are Monday and Friday, with changes during Thanksgiving week.
The route to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will start Dec. 15. Most of the flights are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The additions are part of 22 new routes Allegiant announced today.
“A hallmark of Allegiant’s service is to connect travelers to warmer destinations where they can enjoy a variety of outdoor leisure activities,” said Drew Wells, senior vice president of revenue and network planning. “And we’ve continued that tradition with this expansion by giving customers more affordable, nonstop options to visit Florida, Arizona and California during the fall and winter seasons.”
Out of Sioux Falls, introductory rates for the new flights are as low as $49 for a one-way ticket. They must be purchased by Wednesday for travel by May 17.
Airlines have announced several new routes out of Sioux Falls recently. Allegiant announced in late June that it was adding service to Austin, Texas. Frontier Airlines is adding nonstop service to Las Vegas and Orlando.
