Get ready to maybe win big and definitely play a winning role for Special Olympics South Dakota.

The organization’s Chase the Ace fundraiser at Tinner’s Public House is approaching its one-year mark, and Jan. 4 will be the final event.

That means someone will draw the ace of spades and be declared the winner, sharing a prize that’s estimated to reach at least $200,000 with Special Olympics South Dakota.

There are only 16 sealed envelopes/cards remaining, and there will be a drawing until the ace of spaces is found that night. If your ticket is drawn, you’ll still win $100 even if you don’t select the ace of spades.

“This has been such a great way to have fun while allowing people to learn more about our organization and give back to help us help our very special athletes,” said Darryl Nordquist, president and CEO of Special Olympics South Dakota. “We’re excited to meet our big winner soon.”

So far, the fundraiser has raised more than $85,000 for Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics South Dakota, supporting more than 2,750 athletes statewide.

Special Olympics South Dakota is a year-round program of sports training, competition, health and education initiatives for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

More than 2,750 athletes in more than 50 South Dakota communities train and compete in over 26 Olympic-type sports. There is no fee to participate in Special Olympics.

The Chase the Ace drawing will begin at 7:37 p.m., but you don’t need to be present to win.
