Furniture Mart USA has a new CEO.

Cory Price is a second-generation company leader who takes over for Jim Heinitz, who retired last year after serving in the role since 2008. Price’s stepfather Bill Hinks is the founder and chairman of the company.

“Cory is the right leader at the right time for our company,” Hinks said. “He rose through the ranks and appreciates the contributions of everyone within the organization. Price started in warehouse and delivery while attending Roosevelt High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from the University of Sioux Falls. While at UCF, Price worked as a professional show skier at Sea World. After college, he attended flight school and earned a commercial pilot’s license, which led to a job with Endeavor Air.

He returned to Sioux Falls and to Furniture Mart in 2006 and later was named manager at Ashley HomeStore. Most recently, Price was president of strategic planning and company development, focused on leading Furniture Mart USA’s sales and marketing. In addition, Price has served for the past decade as the corporate pilot.

“I want to enhance the vision and growth that Bill has led for more than 45 years,” Price said. “and to continually improve upon our customer-centric focus through experience, service and technology. To be successful in the future, we must be where our customer wants us and on their terms. Price and his wife, Kacey, have four children and are expecting their fifth child in September.

Furniture Mart USA, the nation’s 37th largest furniture retailer, operates 59 stores in 35 communities across six states.
