The first weekend of the 2026 Spring Parade of Homes drew strong crowds across Sioux Falls and the surrounding metro, signaling continued enthusiasm for new home construction and design inspiration.
“The first weekend brought a lot of positive energy and strong traffic throughout the Parade,” said Craig Wynia of Jeren Homes, builder of one of the Parade’s three feature homes. “We had a ton of great conversations, and the interest from people considering new construction is definitely there.”
Hosted by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire Inc., the annual Spring Parade of Homes concludes this weekend, May 16-17. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. The event features 60 homes in a variety of styles, layouts and price ranges throughout Sioux Falls and surrounding communities.
According to Wynia, many attendees are realizing that waiting for significantly lower interest rates might no longer make sense.
“People are getting the feeling that we’re probably not going back to those ultra-low interest rates, while life keeps moving forward and costs continue to rise,” he said. “Builders throughout the Parade were hearing similar feedback. People were excited to get out, explore new homes and start gathering ideas.”
Parade homes are located throughout Sioux Falls and the metro area, including many homes available for purchase.
“They’re beautiful homes, and there’s truly something for everyone,” Wynia said. “You’ll see a wide range of styles, finishes and layouts. If you’re thinking about building or remodeling, there’s no better opportunity to gather ideas and meet local builders all in one weekend.”
The Parade includes three feature homes showcasing elevated design, craftsmanship and amenities. Admission to each feature home is $5 per adult, per home. Cash only will be accepted; credit cards, Venmo and checks will not be accommodated.
All other Parade homes are free to tour.
“What we hear from clients all the time is they take inspiration from several different homes and combine those ideas into their own future home,” Wynia said. “That’s what makes the Parade such a valuable experience.”
Proceeds from feature home admissions benefit the Home Builders Care Foundation, which supports programs such as middle school construction camps, scholarships and workforce development grants for local schools. By attending the Parade, visitors also help invest in the future of the building industry in the Sioux Empire.
To make touring easier, attendees can download the HBASE on the Go app for directions, builder information, home details and an interactive Parade experience.
