After decades at The Empire Mall, China Pantry has closed.

The Chinese restaurant’s space in the food course is empty, though the mall is working on a replacement tenant.

Another Chinese restaurant, Stir Fry Express, opened across the food court last year.

Owner Semir Secic is planning to open a second restaurant in the food court, potentially at the end of the month. El Burrito will offer create-your-own burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas.

That’s taking the space that most recently was Taco John’s. On the same side of the food court, Tasty T will bring a fusion of Korean street food and trendy desserts. It’s also expected to open in the coming week.
