Forever 21 in The Empire Mall is closing

Forever 21 in The Empire Mall is closing, along with at least 200 other locations in the U.S.
The company is expected to file for bankruptcy, according to media reports. According to its website, there are 359 stores.

Forever 21 opened in the mall in 2018. A year later, the clothing retailer, which offers fast-changing merchandise mostly geared toward teens and young adults, filed for bankruptcy. The company was purchased then by a partnership that included Authentic Brands Group and landlords Simon Property Group, owner of The Empire Mall, and Brookfield Property Partners.

The Sioux Falls store hasn’t announced a closing date.
Most merchandise is marked at a 10 percent discount.

Clearance items are at 40 percent.
