A benefit this weekend will help raise funds to support a restaurant leader and his family who lost their home to fire.
Vanguard Hospitality director of culinary Josh Jackson’s house caught on fire. He, wife Stacie and their twin daughters were unharmed, but the house was extensively damaged. Jackson had time to grab only a few personal items.
A fundraiser for the Jackson family will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at JJ’s Wine, Spirits & Cigars, 3000 W. 57th St.
The menu will be a barbecue plate that’s $20 for adults and also includes pasta salad, baked beans, chips and a soda or $25 with a tap beer, or $10 for kids.
A large variety of silent auction items is available, including plenty of exceptional food and beverage offerings.
There also will be face painting, pumpkin painting and live music.
