Minnesota-based The Tavern Grill is coming to Sioux Falls after all.

The restaurant confirmed it plans to open later this fall at 4801 S. Louise Ave., which most recently was Spezia but has been vacant since 2020.

Construction has been done inside the building, and job postings for a general manager and multiple assistant managers have been listed on the restaurant’s website.

The plan is to open sometime in November, contingent on inspections, according to a spokesperson, who said “we are looking forward to opening and having a full holiday season in Sioux Falls.”

The Tavern Grill originally announced plans to come to Sioux Falls in early 2022.

It was founded in 2009 with Tavern on France, located on France Avenue in Edina, Minnesota, and has grown to nine locations, including Sioux Falls.

The menu features build-your-own sections with almost limitless combinations of salads, pizzas and burgers, along with appetizers, pastas and entrees. There’s also a Sunday brunch buffet.

When The Tavern Grill announced its Sioux Falls location, the plan was to completely renovate the space, including walls, textures, colors, furniture and fixtures, with three private dining spaces of various sizes, plus patio seating.
