4 friends buy, rebrand Harrisburg bar

Feb. 3, 2023

Four friends are the new owners of The Bunker Bar in Harrisburg.

They took over the former On the Rocks at 108 E. Willow St.

Seth North, who owns businesses that include commercial cleaning, painting and snow removal, learned the bar was for sale and put together the ownership group of friends.

It includes Spencer Mannes, who works in real estate development, and Kevin Marlow and Nate Russell, who work in the automotive industry.

“We’ve been friends a long time, and we said we’d be happy to jump in and give it a shot,” Russell said. “I like the community, the people who come to the bar. The regulars are here to relax and have a good time. … It’s a pretty tight-knit group, and we like the idea of the small-town vibe.”

They’ve put their new branding around the bar and plan other improvements, although “it was pretty turnkey for the most part,” he said.

The bar has a full liquor license, and the new owners plan to do daily drink specials, including one for military members on Sundays in keeping with “The Bunker Bar” name.

Food is limited to pizza, but they plan to invite food trucks during the nicer weather and host events such as live music and corn hole tournaments.

“Anything we can do that’s going to help bring the community together,” Russell said.

Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
