1 Million Cups announces return to in-person format

May 4, 2021

1 Million Cups, a weekly entrepreneurial speaker series and networking event, will return to a fully in-person format this week.

The event, which features a different small-business owner or startup founder each week, will be held at the Museum of Visual Materials located at Fifth and Main at 9 a.m. each Wednesday.

“As the community becomes more comfortable with in-person events, we are excited to transition 1 Million Cups back to being an in-person event,” co-organizer Matt Paulson said. “While we’ll still be social distancing and taking basic health and safety precautions, I think the Sioux Falls startup community is eager to have in-person networking events again.”

Upcoming speakers include:

  • May 5: Tyler Brockel, Trigger Interactive.
  • May 12: Jodi Schwan, Pigeon605.
  • May 19: Megan Raposa, Sioux Falls Simplified.
  • May 26: To be determined.
  • June 2: Ben Whitley, BoothOrTable.

1 Million Cups has been operating as an online-only event since last fall. Watch previously recorded speakers on YouTube using this this link. The event will continue to be streamed on Facebook for those not able to attend in person.

The event will run through July for its summer speaker series and will pick up again in mid-September for its fall speaker series. The organizing team is John Meyer, Lemonly; Matt Paulson and Maureen Ohm, MarketBeat; Brienne Maner and Peter Hauck, Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship; and Sadie Swier, Downtown Sioux Falls Inc.
