Hyatt Place coming to Lake Lorraine

Nov. 13, 2018

A Hyatt Place hotel will be built at Lake Lorraine, according to plans filed with the city.

The estimated $7.5 million, 112-room hotel will be located on the north side of the property and is the second hotel to submit plans at Lake Lorraine.

Aloft is planning to build on the south end of the site near a new retail building that’s under construction.

Hyatt Place is a brand of Hyatt Hotels Corp. It’s marketed as a modern hotel with amenities including a free hot breakfast; a 24/7 Gallery marketplace and lounge with grab-and-go items, bar appetizers, beer and wine; a 24/7 business center; and suites with sectional sofas and contemporary bathrooms.

There are more than 300 locations. This will be the first in South Dakota.

Hyatt Place and Aloft could be under construction and open about the same time, but nothing has started yet.
