As a veteran “hockey mom,” Tamme Berdahl’s most important criteria in a new vehicle was simple: space.
She found it — and much more — when she became a Lincoln driver.
“My last three or four cars have been Lincolns,” Berdahl said.
“I was a newer hockey mom, and a friend pulls up in this bigger car, a new Lincoln. I just said, ‘Oh my gosh, that is super-beautiful.’ We travel in the winter every weekend in extreme conditions, so it really helps the ease of travel there, and there was a spot for my purse, all our bags, the hockey gear. Everyone had their own spot without being crowded.”
While she first was attracted by the look, then by the room inside, “I really appreciated how it drives even better than how it looked,” she said. “I knew that was going to be my car.”
Her newest one is a 2025 Lincoln Black Label Navigator, a top-of-the-line model that delivers not only exceptional features but also best-in-class service.
“These vehicles deliver the pinnacle of what Lincoln can offer,” dealer principal Ed Bloom said. “We’re excited drivers like Tamme already have started to enjoy the benefits of Black Label and have been seeing more interest continually as our customers discover what makes these vehicles so unique.”
With the new, recently opened stand-alone dealership at 4901 W. 26th St., Sioux Falls Lincoln became authorized to sell and service Black Label vehicles.
The Lincoln Black Label program offers vehicles with curated interior themes, premium materials and a high-end audio system delivering immersive sound.
Drivers also receive a menu of other benefits including:
- Four-year/50,000-mile premium maintenance, including oil changes, multipoint inspections and preventative care.
- Dedicated service concierge.
- Vehicle pickup and delivery.
- Complimentary car washes.
- Avis President’s Club membership.
- Exclusive events and experiences.
- One-year membership to the Calm meditation app.
A dedicated lounge within the new dealership allows guests to consult on options for colors and interiors.
The new building “is so beautiful, and it’s fun for Sioux Falls to offer high-end buildings like that,” Berdahl said. “I think it enhances our community, and not just as a customer. I think everyone benefits from being able to see the growth of Sioux Falls.”
Black Label is ideal for a customer who values aesthetics, performance and the convenience of inclusive service, Bloom said.
“It’s a true luxury offering,” he said. “Lincoln keeps raising the bar across its lineup, and with Black Label, you absolutely see the best of the best.”
While Berdahl said she’s excited for her added Black Label benefits, when it comes to service, “I probably won’t know the difference,” she said. “They’re already so good to me. People always offer to pick up the car and drop off another, and I can’t believe it.”
In her 2025 Black Label Navigator, Berdahl specifically likes tailgate upgrades, including the new, exclusive Lincoln Split Gate, a design that makes loading and unloading cargo easier, preventing items from spilling out.
The vehicle features a panoramic 48-inch display, enhanced digital experience software and new digital scent technology, alongside a redesigned exterior featuring a distinctive Black Label grille with an illuminated logo.
“It certainly looks nice,” Berdahl said. “The material is a huge improvement, which is fun, and it wows people when they sit in the car. The dash is so cool, especially the fact that you can change the theme. I think it’s going to be fun watching the huge changes coming in cars.”
But as for her brand of choice — Berdahl expects that will remain consistent.
“We have a place in Montana and have rented almost every luxury large SUV in the market while traveling. Every time, I say Lincoln is better,” she said. “I honestly wouldn’t be a Lincoln customer if it really wasn’t true. It’s that good. We’ll probably just buy this Lincoln when our lease is done and leave it there (in Montana) because my next car won’t need to be quite as big as we’re working our way down with kids in hockey.”
Others often ask her why she always drives a Lincoln, she said.
“I say that Lincoln doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel,” she said. “They’ve been around so long they know the foundation of what people want in a car and how to build a really good car, and now they’ve fine-tuned the experience part.”
