Winter items needed for new Sioux Falls residents

A fundraiser this month aims to help new members of the Sioux Falls community who aren’t prepared for our harsh winters.

The Presentation Sisters are partnering with several area businesses to provide gloves, mittens, hats and scarves to the people served at their Caminando Juntos ministry.

Many Hispanic residents who move to Sioux Falls don’t have these winter items. The Presentation Sisters are working to gather them at the following locations:

  • Jan. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at Hy-Vee at 4101 S. Louise Ave.
  • Jan. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hy-Vee at 3000 S. Minnesota Ave.
  • Jan. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hy-Vee at 1900 S. Marion Road.
  • Jan. 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hy-Vee at 1231 E. 57th St.

Donations also will be accepted all month at all three Sioux Falls Coffea Roasterie locations and Divine Treasures Boutique in Brandon.

To donate, bring new warm gloves, mittens, hats or scarves in sizes for men, women, boys, girls or infants.
