A tuxedo store in Sioux Falls has closed abruptly along with others across 12 states.

Tip Top Tux at 2425 S. Shirley Ave. had a sign on the door Tuesday night that read: “Sorry, we are closed today. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you are a customer returning your tuxedo from the weekend, you will not be charged late fees and may keep your tuxedo. Please visit our website at dapperanddashing.com.”

Atlanta-based Dapper & Dashing, which operates formalwear stores under seven names, offers no information on the website. Customers get a standard recording when they call the toll-free number, and a busy signal after selecting any of the three options.

According to multiple news reports in other states, employees with Dapper & Dashing brands have said they were notified by email that the stores would be closed permanently.
