TapHouse 41 to close for remodeling

July 14, 2023

After nearly a decade in business, TapHouse 41 is getting a new look.

The bar, which features burgers, beer and bourbon, will close Monday for about a week and a half of remodeling work, supervisor Brent Habdouch said. Some of the work has already started.

“We’re getting a whole new look,” he said. “New flooring, new lighting, new furniture. We’re building a little spot to block our kitchen a little bit with a wall and banquette booths.”

TapHouse 41, which is on the east side of the Western Mall, is owned by WR Hospitality. The Sioux Falls-based business also owns All Day Cafe, Phillips Avenue Diner, 22Ten Kitchen Cocktails and restaurants in other cities.

The TapHouse bar itself is getting a new look with a granite top instead of wood. Blue tile already has been installed on the wall behind the bar.

“Everything will be a little more modern and sleek,” Habdouch said.

The goal is to reopen July 27, he said.

The bar is always closed on Sundays, so customers have two more days to stop in for a burger or a drink.
