The top 20 list of home sales for 2024 in the Sioux Falls area includes everything from country estates to an acreage nestled in the city.

The list, which covers Minnehaha and Lincoln counties, also includes homes that sit along a golf course or in a private development with a pond, mostly on the east and south sides of the city and out into the countryside. Features range from an indoor pool to an eight-car garage.

The No. 1 home at $2,745,500 didn’t top the most expensive sale of 2023, which was $3.7 million. The 13-acre property west of I-29 on Sundowner Avenue includes a four-bedroom home and a shop, but the site will be redeveloped with the addition of an interchange at Interstate 29 and 85th Street.

The No. 2 home sold for $2,700,000 and sit on 7 wooded acres in a rural neighborhood near Good Earth State Park. The 8,500-square-foot English-style estate was built in 1991 in the Indian Hills development. The brick home has five bedrooms and six baths. Features include an indoor pool, climate-controlled atrium, a bonus detached three-stall garage and a pond. It also appears as the No. 4 sale for the year at $2.5 million as those owners fulfilled a contract for deed before selling it for $2.7 million.
