A Minnesota Avenue mainstay is closing.

Taco John’s will close its location at 1100 S. Minnesota Ave. on Saturday.

The restaurant has been there since 1987. The closure is part of a realignment for the Sioux Falls stores, according to vice president of operations Ted Miller.

Taco John’s relocated its East 10th Street location to a new building across the street earlier this year and is building a new site at 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue that’s scheduled to open in January.

Employees from the Minnesota Avenue restaurant will move to other locations, so no one is out of a job, Miller said.
