A new full-service salon for men is coming to the east side.

Gents Grooming will open at Dawley Farm Village in a retail center that includes Subway and Verizon Wireless.

The space most recently was a Supercuts.

“I walked in and realized, I can do something with this place,” owner Rob Davis said. “It’s kind of already done; it’s just the aesthetics I knew I wanted to change right away.”

Davis began his career in sales, then shifted to becoming a stylist to cut down on travel and spend more time with his kids. He graduated nearly two years ago from Stewart School and currently has a studio at My Aria Salon Studios.

“Business has been awesome, and I’m a go-getter, so I always knew I wanted to open up my own spot,” Davis said. “I knew I wanted a bright, clean, modern place. … I want it to be a full men’s salon, and I’ve not seen it in Sioux Falls.”

He plans to have a couple of other barbers or stylists on staff, plus professionals to offer massage and waxing services. He’s hiring, with a plan to be open March 1.
