This week’s Up-and-Comer is Taylor Moyer, a trust administrator and operations specialist at Bridgeford Trust Co.

What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I was born and raised in Sioux Falls, and most of my family is located in or around Sioux Falls. I am graduating in August with a bachelor’s in accounting and a minor in legal studies from the University of South Dakota, with plans of returning the following week to begin completing my MPA and eventually sitting for the Uniformed CPA Exam in South Dakota.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

I stay because of the wonderful people that I’ve been able to connect with and the vast number of opportunities that exist in our community. It is invigorating to see all the development and growth that has occurred in Sioux Falls, especially in recent years.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I love learning about the trust industry and the numerous benefits it creates for individuals with long-term wealth and estate planning needs. I also enjoy meeting new people. As a trust administrator, I have the special privilege of being intimately connected with both clients and Bridgeford’s team, which has allowed me to meet wonderful people from around the world.

How did you get connected to your industry?

It was our president and general counsel, Ashley Blake, who opened the door and gave me the push to enter the industry. She reached out to me as I was starting to look for more opportunities closer to my field of study. After discussing my background and the needs of Bridgeford, it seemed like a perfect fit for me. A month later, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else!

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I was once cadet deputy commander for the Sioux Falls Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol. Under this role, I was second-in-command of cadets and was responsible for the administration and organization of various public events and internal activities, trainings. I owe a lot of my ambition and success to this organization as it taught me the power of discipline, commitment and respect.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

My favorite way to give back is by volunteering at different organizations, like the Humane Society or the Food Pantry.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

I would really love to see a PF Chang’s in Sioux Falls. I’m tired of driving to Omaha for my fix!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Continuing to support Bridgeford’s clients and team but hopefully with more focus on trust tax law and compliance.
