If you’re considering any home improvement projects, inside or out, the Sioux Empire Home Show is a must-attend event this year.
“We have more than 270 booths, making this the largest show we’ve had in years,” said Teddi Mueller, executive vice president of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire Inc.
“The industry is eager to share its story and connect with homeowners, and this has become the premier event to do just that. It’s the perfect time to engage with experts and prepare for the upcoming building season.”
The Sioux Empire Home Show runs Feb. 21-23 at the Sioux Falls Arena & Convention Center, with the following hours:
- Friday: 1 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
One-stop destination for home inspiration
“The Home Show is your go-to destination for everything you need to create your dream home,” Mueller said. “From flooring and lighting to cabinetry, design and even mortgage options, you’ll find all the inspiration and resources you need in one place.”
The latest home technology continues to be a major draw, showcasing innovations that blend convenience with modern living. Attendees can explore booths demonstrating smart-home features, including automated blinds, heating, lighting, air control and even backyard enhancements — all at the touch of a button.
“It’s an exciting time to explore emerging trends in home design,” Mueller said. “Retro styles are making a comeback in kitchens, bathrooms and lighting. Nature-inspired elements are gaining popularity, appliances are being seamlessly integrated — or even hidden — into kitchen designs, and flooring options now range from bold colors to sustainable materials.”
Luxury Outdoors, hands-on fun for kids
A special feature this year is the Luxury Outdoors exhibit, a 2,000-square-foot showcase featuring:
- Paver patios.
- Two full-size decks.
- Under-deck roofing solutions.
- An outdoor fireplace.
- A putting green.
- The latest landscaping trends.
For younger attendees, the Kid’s Building Zone offers a hands-on woodworking project, where kids can create their own mini cornhole boards. This activity runs:
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“It’s exciting to see everything come together,” Mueller said. “People are calling with questions, our exhibitors are fully engaged, and it’s amazing to see everyone rally around this event to make it a success.”
