Sioux Falls-based Silverstar Car Wash will open the city’s farthest west-side wash location today.

At 8200 W. 41st St., the northeast corner of 41st and Ellis Road, the wash is the 10th location in Sioux Falls, with more under construction.

For the opening, Silverstar will be offering:

  • Customers can sign up for a free wash at silverstarcarwashes.com for the remainder of the month.
  • $1 first month unlimited membership for new customers who sign up at the new location.
  • Percentage of all sales at 41st and Ellis to benefit South Dakota Law Enforcement Charities.

“We are excited to keep building on the Silverstar convenience with our west-side location and to be supporting our law enforcement community by donating to the South Dakota Law Enforcement Charities,” said Will Bell, Sioux Falls regional manager.

Across the region, Silverstar has 16 locations in four states, with many more under development.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from Silverstar Car Wash for our local law enforcement communityas they honor the hard work of law enforcement across the region,” said Sheriff Steve Swenson of Lincoln County.

This year marks the 41st year for the annual South Dakota Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner and Children’s Charity Fundraiser. While many states across the country are looking for ways to criticize and attack law enforcement, South Dakota looks forward each year to honoring its law enforcement officers.

Former law enforcement officer Gene Abdallah started the event in 1982 as an effort to show appreciation to law enforcement officers who provided assistance to him when he served as U.S. marshal for the District of South Dakota and later when he was superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

The event has grown substantially over the years and now attracts nearly 2,000 local, state and national peace officers and military personnel as well as corporate leaders and government officials each year, making it the largest gathering of its kind in the nation. The dinner is a favorite for city, county, state, federal and tribal officials from all across the United States, including Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota and Nebraska.

“My father, Gene Abdallah, started the South Dakota Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner to show his thanks for the work and sacrifice of South Dakota law enforcement officers and to bring together our community to recognize their efforts. Silverstar Car Wash’s commitment to supporting both our law enforcement community and this event means that legacy will continue,” Scott Abdallah said.

Silverstar Car Wash is the Upper Midwest’s largest and fastest growing car wash, employing more than 180 team members.
