Restaurant Roundup: Pints & plants, new pizzas

New seasonal pizzas have arrived at Sunny’s Pizzeria. The Bloody Magnificence is a bloody mary-inspired pizza that even comes with a beer back. Casper’s Angry Cousin features a ghost pepper sauce with chicken, bacon, jalapenos, bleu cheese and ranch. Elote All Day has all the flavors of Mexican street corn, Nacho Average Pizza gets topped with Doritos and Parmigiana Nirvana will be a hit with those with like chicken parm.
To celebrate the newest batch of Gallivant, No. 8, Fernson Downtown is throwing a release party and hosting a houseplant pop-up shop. Landscape Garden Centers is taking over the back patio July 28 and 29 for a sale. Each day, the first 25 people who buy a plant will get a free pint. Hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Gallivant is part of the Wandering Hop Series. Each batch of the Hazy IPA features a new hop. Gallivant 8 uses Galaxy, Idaho 7, BRU-1 and Azacca hops.
Bone Daddy’s Smokehouse has posted on social media that it officially is closed. The business had done a couple of pop-up events this summer after closing its restaurant spaces in Harrisburg and Canton bars at the beginning of the year. Owners Randy and Vanessa Ragatz had said they were planning to open a restaurant or start a food truck.
Everyone’s favorite hot dog on wheels is in the Sioux Falls area. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will be at tonight’s Summer Porch Series at Strawbale Winery. Catch it at Sunday in the Vineyard at Humble Hill Winery north of Brandon from 1 to 5 p.m.
It’s summertime, so Shenanigan’s Sports Bar & Grill at 26th and Ellis has added fishbowls. Sit on the patio, and try the Electric Lemonade or the Long Island iced tea.
If you can’t get enough chicken wings, Windy City Bites food truck will be taking orders for them next week by the pan. Get as few as 20 or as many as 100. Customers will get a scheduled pickup time. Text 605-254-3533 to check availability and place orders.
