Restaurant Roundup: New Year’s Eve specials, The Bar’s new menu

It won’t be hard to find food and drink specials for New Year’s Eve. Here are just a few of the special offerings and parties we noticed.

  • Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar has a featured menu that’s available through Jan. 4. Appetizers include seared scallops, a burrata and granny smith apple agrodolce, crab cake and lobster bisque. Entrees are pork porterhouse, crab-stuffed halibut, roasted airline chicken and Argentine-style bavette steak and lobster tail with chimichurri.

  • Dada Gastropub and Icon Events are throwing a Back to the New Year party that “jumps decades, cranks the music and ends with champagne at midnight. Costumes encouraged. Dancing required. Time travel guaranteed.” The event hall will re-create 1950s high school prom vibes, including a Grease-style couple’s dance contest, and the Dada Gastropub side will have an ‘80s dance party, including a costume contest.   • Great Shots has a party package for six to eight people that includes three hours of golf from 7 to 10 p.m., an appetizer platter, dessert bar and complimentary welcome champagne. There will be a DJ and fireworks. Prices range from $325 to $375, depending on the number of people. There’re also an unlimited drink package that ranges from $190 to $250. Make reservations here.
  • Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar and the Ramada by Wyndham Sioux Falls Waterpark & Convention Center are having a party with acrobatic performances, Dueling Pianos and a live DJ. The waterpark will be open until 1 a.m. There will be food specials, a complimentary midnight champagne toast and more. Hotel guests will have priority seating for the entertainment.
  • BibiSol is offering a six-course farm-to-table dinner. Tickets are $120. See the menu and get tickets at bibisol.com/events.
  • Harvester Kitchen by Bryan is having its final celebration in its current space on New Year’s Eve. Tickets for Top Hats & Tiaras are $250 per person and include sparkling wine, hors d’oeuvres and a six-course meal. After dinner, there will be dancing, with a toast at midnight and a table of sweets. Add-ons are available. Get tickets here.

  • Hook & Ladder Kitchen & Bar is featuring prime rib, which is usually available only on Friday and Saturday, for $25; bone marrow for $8 per “canoe”; and blackened scallop and shrimp linguine for $35. Special desserts are limoncello mascarpone cake and white chocolate blueberry cheesecake.
  • Blarney Stone Pub’s dinner specials are Center-Cut New York Strip Oscar for $36 and Atlantic Salmon Oscar for $32.
  • Gist Wine Shop will host its annual NYE Champagne Experience. Stop down anytime from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday to enjoy “three exceptional champagnes perfectly paired with the 3 C’s: chips, cheese and chocolate!” Flights are $65.
  • On New Year’s Day, Baltic Corner is having a potluck at 2 p.m. and is serving Tom and Jerrys from 2 to 4 p.m. It will be open from noon to 7 p.m.

The Bar, which is at 1004 S. Six Mile Road in the original Alibi Bar & Grill location, has a new menu, which includes featured cocktails. In addition, new daily specials start Monday. The kitchen serves food until 2 a.m. daily, opening at 3 p.m. on weekdays and noon on the weekend.

Here’s the lineup for the $5 Community Dinners in January at the Sioux Falls Food Co+op. They’re served from 4 to 7  p.m. every Wednesday.

Breadsmith is kicking off the new year with a special. Get $4 loaves of whole wheat or multigrain varieties on Mondays throughout January.

Little Caesars has a limited online-only special. Get two one-topping large pizzas for $5 each. Use the code PIZZAPIZZA.

Scooter’s Coffee has new featured drinks and treats with a brunch theme and flavors of banana bread, cinnamon rolls and waffles.

Changes in hours, service

  • Fernson Downtown and Totally Rad Eats will be open on Mondays in January to accommodate Downtown Burger Battle crowds. Hours will be 3 to 9 p.m. On the other days, Fernson opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday. Burgers are available all day. New brunch hours on the weekend are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen also is adding days in January because of the Downtown Burger Battle. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
  • The Barrel House has discontinued its Sunday brunch.
  • Roam Kitchen + Bar will be closed Jan. 1-8 to replace flooring in the kitchen.
  • ThaiTen will be closed Friday through Sunday because of a funeral. It will be open on New Year’s Day.
