Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

A Mexican restaurant from the operators of a Canton food truck has replaced the Mexican restaurant that closed earlier this year in central Sioux Falls. Los Arcos Mexican Taco Restaurant has opened at 1200 S. Minnesota Ave. The owners, Samuel Espinoza and his uncle Ponciano Espinoza, worked at the former Abelardo’s Mexican Fresh, which operated at the site for four years. It’s open daily.

Watecha Bowl has expanded and now offers seating inside. The Native American restaurant, which started as a food truck three years ago, took over adjacent vacant space in the retail center at 2305 W. Madison St.

Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery is taking over take-and-bake meal provider Dinner Birdie, which Jeni Bergan of Chef Jeni & Company started in 2020. Dinner Birdie’s items will be available for ordering and pickup at the downtown cafe beginning in mid-April. Online ordering will expand from weekly to daily, and grab-and-go offerings will be available daily at Josiah’s.

Crawford’s Bar & Grill is adding an upscale catering service this spring, and its sister restaurant, Wagoo Burger, which is in Fernson Dowtown, is adding a food truck this season.

The Dive has opened its second location. The restaurant and craft beer bar has replaced The Pickle Barrel in Park Ridge Galleria at 26th and Western. The menu features burgers and sandwiches. It’s open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday.

Remedy at 611 has reopened after a “winter hibernation.” The taproom is in Remedy Brewing Co.’s production facility at 611 N. West Ave. It’s open Thursday through Saturday.

Melanie Hite and Molly Quarve are starting Color Splash Studio, a do-it-yourself tie-dye studio, at Lake Lorraine. They hope to open in early May.

Locally owned Cooks & Bakers Kitchen has opened in a new retail center at Dawley Farm Village. It sells cookware, bakeware, kitchen equipment and gadgets, and entertainment accessories. Cooking and baking classes are offered for now by appointment only. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Northwest Sioux Falls has its first Starbucks. The coffee shop is in a retail center at 1403 N. Marion Road, south of Jefferson High School. It’s open daily.
