Watecha Bowl has added another food challenge. In addition to the 5-pound Indian taco, big eaters can try to tackle the Native American restaurant’s burger. It’s a “monster” piece of fry bread topped with four 5-ounce buffalo patties, cheese, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce with 1 pound of fries drizzled  with nacho cheese and topped with salsa and sour cream. Challengers get 15 minutes to finish the meal. The cost is $20, and successful eaters get $40 in cash, $60 in Watecha Bowl gift cards and their face on the wall of fame.

Want to have a Samurai Tasteas chef prepare a meal in your home? The Japanese-style steakhouse has added a full-service teppanyaki hibachi experience for eight to 50 people. Get all the details by stopping at the restaurant at 3217 S. Sertoma Ave. or call 605-988-7857. The restaurant even has patio heaters that you can rent for your party.

Papa’s Pub & Eatery may have abandoned its plans to reopen the restaurant in Dell Rapids, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely gone. Chef David Ohayon is offering his signature spinach and artichoke dip by the pint for $10 with pickup in Sioux Falls and batch deliveries to Dell Rapids. Reach out through Papa’s Facebook page to order.

Fiero Pizza now offers a gluten-free, vegan crust for an extra charge. Instead of the downtown pizzeria’s traditional rectangle-shaped crust, the new version is round.

Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse is partnering up again with Cultivated in Love – this time for a Valentine’s Day-inspired charcuterie class. The event starts at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at the downtown tasting room. Each board will be paired with cocktails. At the end of the night, participants get to take home the charcuterie – unless they’ve eaten it already! Tickets are $65 and are available online. They’re also doing a brunch grazing class with cocktails at 11 a.m. Feb. 19.

Prairie Berry Winery, which has a tasting room in Sioux Falls, took home six awards at the San Francisco Wine Competition earlier this month. Black Hills Red Blend 2021 received a Best of Class award and was a sweepstakes contender with the top 1 percent of wines entered for Best of Red Wine. Brianna 2021 and Raspberry Honeywine received double golds, and Cherry Crab Apple won gold. Frontenac 2021 took silver, and Rosy Ass Rhubarb received bronze. The competition featured more than 5,700 wines from more than 1,100 wineries.

Changes in service, hours

The Cookie Jar Eatery has reopened. With co-owner Glen Koch at home recovering after surgery, the bakery is offering cookies and bars from the case and gradually will add special orders. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

With the new year, Pizza di Paolo, the maker of Italian sourdough pizza at 2300 S. Minnesota Ave., had added hours on Wednesdays. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Two restaurants in the Jones421 Building are getting ready to relocate. Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen is closed while it makes the move into a larger space in the marketplace at 421 N. Phillips Ave. The last day for Papa Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza in the building will be Saturday. It’s moving farther north on Phillips to The Cascade. It hopes to reopen Feb. 14.
