Restaurant Roundup: Fresh oysters, BOGO pizza, summer features

Final Friday Oysters are back for the season at Carpenter Bar. Fresh oysters on the half-shell are sold on the last Friday of the month. Serving starts at 4 p.m. Friday and goes until they’re sold out.

With new ownership and the reopening of Boss’ Pizza & Chicken on West 26th Street, the carryout/delivery shop is offering a BOGO deal on all large specialty pizzas through Sunday. If you order online, use the code BOGOPIZZA.

Pizza Cheeks has added several new items to the menu, many featuring pesto like the Green Dream pizza, Pesto Pasta and the Pesto Chicken Sandwich. There’s another new pizza, the Mediterranean-inspired How Bazaar, and the cold salad Picnic Pasta. See the menu descriptions here.

T.C.’s Referee Sports Bar has new featured items on the menu for summer.

Here’s the weekly lineup for the $5 community dinners that are served every Wednesday at the Sioux Falls Food Co+op. Hours are 4 to 7 p.m. or while supplies last.

Look’s Marketplace is bringing back fan favorites from the menu and calling it Throwback Thursday. Today was the Kunu Pizza, and last week was the Brisket Broccoli Stacker. Follow Look’s on Facebook or Instagram to see what’s returning  next.

With 605 Day approaching on June 5, Breadsmith is featuring six days of $5 breads. The first daily deal with be Monday.

Events

The Human Bean is celebrating its first year in business Friday with a BOGO offer on Bright energy drinks. Activities include storytime on the patio presented by The Sensory Studio at 10 a.m. and a line-dancing party at 7 p.m. after the stand closes.

Remedy Brewing Co.’s annual Queen Bee party is Saturday. The brewery will be serving four variants of its signature beer: peachy Bellini, Beesalt and Lime, pistachio-flavored Beestachio and Major Beeler with honeysuckle and coriander. There will be food features, music on the patio and a local vendor fair. The fun starts at 11:30 a.m.

Tarquin Argentinian Restaurant is collaborating with Chef Omar Thornton for a Jambalaya Fish Fry and wine dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets are $150 per couple. Make a reservation by calling the restaurant.

Changes in hours, service

  • Starting Monday, the new Koala T Cafe is expanding its hours for summer, adding Tuesdays and staying open later: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
  • The coffee trailer Saddle Up Espresso in Lennox will be closed on Sundays for the summer.
  • Starting next week, Buffalo Trading Post west of Colton will be open again on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The dinner special will be purchase a burger or chicken sandwich and get the second one for half-price.
