Help Nothing Bundt Cakes celebrate its 25th birthday Sept. 1 with free cake. The first 250 guests will get a confetti bundtlet. No purchase is necessary. Founded in Las Vegas in 1997, Nothing Bundt Cakes started as a small baking business out of the home kitchens of co-founders Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz. They eventually started opening bakeries and have franchised their concept. Now, there are almost 450 locations, including the Sioux Falls franchise on the east side of the Western Mall. It opens at 9 a.m. that day.

 

Fat Kid Filly’s is helping feed guests at the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House with its “Soup for the American Soul” campaign. For every jar of soup sold, the food vendor will donate a jar to the shelter – doing so in 30 jar batches. To place an order, call or text 605-838-5611 or send a message through Facebook.

Calico Skies Vineyard & Winery is looking for volunteers to help harvest the Brianna grapes Saturday. The work begins at 7 a.m. – or whenever you get there. The vineyard between Canton and Inwood, Iowa, will serve doughnuts in the morning and pizza for lunch. Adult pickers also will get a bottle of Brianna. En Place Catering is starting a series of specialty dinners. The first will be the annual harvest dinner at Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen, which will be Sept. 13 on the restaurant’s patio. The culinary teams of the sister companies will collaborate on the four-course meal, which will be paired with wines. Space is limited, and tickets can be purchased online. Future dates are Oct. 18, Alsace-Mosell; Nov. 15, Iberia-Basque; Dec. 13, ramen; Feb. 14, Anti-Valentines; March 12: Republic of Georgia; and April 18: Bread & Circus test kitchen.

Harrisburg is getting a return visit of the traveling food truck On the Hook Fish & Chips. It will be at the Ace Hardware parking lot from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

Crisp & Green is marking the return to school with a special offer for teachers. On Sunday, they can buy one salad or grain bowl in store and get one free.

The owners of Nature’s Way Juice Bar are doing a three-day juice cleanse and inviting customers to join them. The cleanse begins Monday, so orders need to be in by 6 p.m. Friday. The drinks will serve as full-meal replacements with breakfast, lunch, supper and a snack. “We focus on flooding the body with nutrients and giving our digestive systems a break,” they said in a post on social media. The price is $105, plus tax.

The Barrel House is hosting the Community Blood Bank on Wednesday and giving donors a gift card for a free appetizer on their next visit. Sign up for a time here.

Scooter’s Coffee has released its fall menu. Beverage offerings include Pumpkin Caramelicious, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Maple Vanilla Latte, the new pumpkin or maple spice cold foams and a new Pomegranate Peach Red Bull Infusion. For baked goods, there’s a Pumpkin Caramelicious Muffin and the new Caramel Apple Mini Loaf.

Changes in hours, service

It’s the final days of the season for Sub Zero Desserts. The ice cream shop in a converted shipping container at 501 E. 41st St. closes Sunday. Hours are 1 to 9 p.m.

B&G Milkyway in Harrisburg has eliminated weekday lunch hours for the remainder of the season. It will open at 3:30 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. on the weekend. Labor Day hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Watecha Bowl is closed until Aug. 30. Owners Lawrence and Sophie West are in Rapid City serving food at the Native American World Series.
