Pho Thai expands to mall area
June 10, 2024
The newest option for Thai and Vietnamese food opened today near The Empire Mall.
Pho Thai’s second location in Sioux Falls is in a retail center that includes Michaels craft store on 34th Street between Louise and Shirley avenues. The original restaurant opened five years ago in Shriver Square at 11th Street and Phillips Avenue.

“We’re following the same menu here, and I’m very excited for the customers to try it,” co-owner Kim Ueng said.

Customers will find Thai and Vietnamese dishes like papaya shrimp salad, pho, stir-fried noodles and curries.

A few Chinese favorites like orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and black pepper chicken also are available.

The downtown location recently added a sushi bar, but that menu is not available at the new restaurant, Ueng said.

His brother Jack serves as the general manager.

The restaurant at 3801 W. 34th St. has seating for 84 with a mix of tables and booths.

In addition to the main dining room, there are two smaller seating areas that offer a more secluded atmosphere.

The retail center offers a large parking lot.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Online ordering is being set up, Ueng said.
