Children’s Home Society of South Dakota has hired Jon Mammenga as chief philanthropy officer. He will start his duties July 25. Most recently, Mammenga was associate vice president for development at Augustana University. Before that, he held a variety of positions at the University of South Dakota Foundation for six years.

Shawn Jaacks

Shawn Jaacks has been named the chief information officer at Dakota State University. Jaacks earned his Master of Science in Cyber Defense in 2021 at DSU. His IT career has spanned over 20 years in diverse sectors such as transportation, health care, government operations, education and finance. He most recently served as technology manager at First Bank & Trust.

AARP South Dakota

Jill Franken

Jill Franken is the new volunteer state president for AARP South Dakota. She will work with the state office team and volunteers to advance the AARP vision, mission and strategic priorities, and will chair the executive council of volunteer leaders from across the state. Franken worked for 20 years at the Sioux Falls Health Department, most recently serving as public health director before retiring in April 2021. Her prior experience includes leadership positions at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center and an initial nursing career as a pediatric ICU nurse.

Davenport Evans

Reece Almond

Reece Almond, a lawyer at Davenport Evans, has received the South Dakota Bar Association Pro Bono Service Award. The award recognizes dedication to pro bono service through the State Bar of South Dakota’s legal aid program, Access to Justice Inc. Over a three-year period, Almond volunteered as an attorney for a minor child in a custody/visitation case and related protection order matter. He provided more than 300 hours of pro bono service for the child in addition to accepting other court appointments on a variety of matters.

Sarah Wilson has joined First Premier Bank as vice president, mortgage sales manager. Wilson has nearly 15 years of experience in financial services.

Sandra Wallace has been promoted to vice president, human resources, at First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard. Wallace has more than 20 years of professional experience and joined Premier in 2019.

JLG Architects has promoted Catherine Dekkenga to Sioux Falls market leader. Dekkenga has been a principal architect at JLG since 2017 and has been an architect since 2009.

Jeremy Keizer

Jeremy Keizer, Sioux Falls market president for Reliabank, has received a 40 Under 40 Emerging Community Bank Leaders award from Independent Banker. He won the mentor category for his work with six loan officers at Reliabank.
