Nexstar deal will return KELO-TV to DirecTV

Aug. 29, 2019

Nearly two months after a contract dispute caused KELO-TV and other stations nationwide to go off DirecTV, an agreement has been reached.

DirecTV parent owner AT&T and Nexstar Media Group, which owns KELO and more than 120 other stations in 97 markets, agreed to a multiyear retransmission agreement that will allow the stations to return to broadcasting.

In a joint statement, the companies said they “regret the inconvenience incurred by customers, viewers and advertisers, and we thank them for their patience, as the new agreement was being finalized.”

Financial terms were not disclosed.
