Holmes Murphy moves into new downtown office

Dec. 4, 2024

The Sioux Falls office of Holmes Murphy now is located downtown.

Holmes Murphy, one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerages, has moved from 5120 S. Solberg Ave. into its new office at The Steel District. It’s located in about 10,000 square feet on the third floor of the downtown development’s office tower.

For now, about 40 people are working out of the office, with room to add 30 more.

In a statement, the Des Moines-based firm called it a strategic move that allows for a more collaborative and unique space “that aligns with who the company is today, aiming to provide a positive, creative work environment for employees and a committed, advanced space for serving clients.”

“We’re ecstatic for the transition as our new space is designed to support the expansion of our Holmes Murphy team and elevate how we serve the insurance industry and our clients,” said Doug Muth, senior vice president and Sioux Falls market leader.

“The beauty of The Steel District being a lifestyle property is that it not only brings us closer to our clients but also opens up exciting possibilities for growth and attracting top talent in the area.”

When he first learned about the future development from Lloyd Cos. more than five years ago, Muth said he knew he wanted Holmes Murphy to be part of it.

“All of the new restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and the Canopy hotel being built and showcased just enhance the experience for our employees and clients who visit Sioux Falls,” he said.

Counting its office in Sioux Falls, Holmes Murphy has a presence in 16 markets across the nation.

As the office space fills up, the Canopy by Hilton hotel also marks its opening day today. For a closer look, click below.
